Shopping!
Today I went on a bit of a shopping spree. I got all this cool gear like Post-it notes and stuff. But seriously I did get some big stuff. I got a special stand for my laptop and a proper keyboard to make it into an ordinary computer. Fortunately, I found a keyboard with English layout! The Japanese layout looks cool, but it's a tad bizarre.
Behold my weird-looking computer!
Also, I went to a park yesterday with heaps of people from my dorm. You see, it's Hanami season in Japan (literally means 'flower look'). So, you go to a park and have a picnic, and look at the cherry blossoms, which are everywhere, and pretty breathtaking if you ask me. My camera just can't keep up! Here's a shot anyway to give you an idea:
The other place I went today was Akihabara. It is home to Electric Town (Denkigai in Japanese), Japan's biggest electronics shopping district. You can find just about anything there, and often cheaper than the rest of Tokyo. There's also lots of Duty Free shops there, so I kept bumping into foreigners there way more than normal. (It's not hard to spot a foreigner here!)
Just as I was leaving, there was a massive, and very cold, gust of wind. It was ferocious! We were all trying to walk, but it was pushing as back. It was a Mary Poppins moment. (Then when I came back that way a minute later, the wind propelled me forward massively. Look at me!) Anyway, I didn't take a picture of Akihabara this time, but I have a picture from my last trip:
It's time to study for my 3-hour exam tomorrow...
Oyasuminasai! (Good night!)
